SUMMARY:EducArte’s Brazilian Percussion Workshop & Jam
DESCRIPTION:Learn from and jam with Brazilian samba master percussionist André Coelho from Rio de Janeiro. André will show and demonstrate each of the essential Brazilian percussion instruments. Participants will learn basic rhythms and the event will finish with a jam session. Also come early for our Brazilian dance workshop immediately before the percussion ensemble! \nWe will have some percussion instruments\, like pandeiros\, tamborins\, and surdos for participants. But please bring your instruments if you have any. \nThis is a regularly occurring Brazilian percussion meetup. All levels are welcome to participate. \nThis event is free and open to the public. While primarily intended for adults\, everyone is welcome. Please note that this workshop will be held at Old Parish House of College Park at 4711 Knox Road. \nPlease note that masks and proof of vaccination are required at this event.
