DESCRIPTION:Na XI Feira do Livro\, que acontece no dia 7 de maio\, ABRACE terá a participação do parceiro EducArte\, que conduzirá as oficinas de frevo e de musicalização. Na primeira\, os alunos aprenderão passos básicos do frevo e movimentos para se conectar com o ritmo da música. A aula será guiada pela dançarina e pesquisadora Kate Spanos. Já a oficina de musicalização\, conduzida pelo baterista\, percussionista e compositor Filipe Brandão\, fará com que todos mexam o corpo e se familiarizem com diversos instrumentos musicais\, fortalecendo a conexão com a identidade brasileira. \nAt ABRACE’s 9th Book Fair\, which will take place on May 7\, EducArte will conduct frevo and musicalization workshops. In the frevo workshop. students will learn basic frevo steps and movements to connect with the rhythm of the music. The class will be led by dancer and researcher Kate Spanos. DESCRIPTION:Learn from and jam with Brazilian samba master percussionist André Coelho from Rio de Janeiro. André will show and demonstrate each of the essential Brazilian percussion instruments. Participants will learn basic rhythms and the event will finish with a jam session. Also come early for our Brazilian dance workshop immediately before the percussion ensemble! \nWe will have some percussion instruments\, like pandeiros\, tamborins\, and surdos for participants. But please bring your instruments if you have any. \nThis is a regularly occurring Brazilian percussion meetup. All levels are welcome to participate. \nThis event is free and open to the public.
