DESCRIPTION:Register Now »		 \nJoin us for a special percussive dance community engagement workshop with Soles of Duende on Saturday\, October 12 at 2-3 p.m. at CityDance in Friendship Heights!  \nThe all-female multicultural percussive trio will offer an immersive group class experience on creative expression through migrational dance forms\, centering creative conversation through music and movement. \nSoles of Duende members will teach foundational movement vocabulary from Kathak\, Flamenco\, and Tap and will guide students in the process of creating musical dialogue with these forms. \nSoles of Duende will perform later in the evening at Publick Playhouse in Cheverly\, MD. Learn more and buy tickets here. \nSpace is limited; free registration is required. Note: Admission for registered participants will be granted on a first-come\, first-served basis. Renowned local Brazilian performers Pablo Regis\, André Coelho\, and Ilheuma Zezeh lead the Rio de Janeiro style music and dance event. Samba is an interactive experience and we invite you to join the sarau de samba.  \nSet in the historic Glen Echo Park\, Sarau de Samba features a dynamic ensemble of skilled musicians and dancers\, showcasing the diverse rhythms of samba\, from Golden Age classics and choro to modern pagode and high-energy carnival beats. More than just a performance\, this event invites attendees to become part of the music\, with opportunities to dance\, sing\, and even play instruments alongside the professionals. Short beginner dance lessons will be included in each session. The event is open to people of any skill level\, no partner or instruments required. \nSarau de Samba is presented by the region’s premier Brazilian performing arts presenter EducArte in partnership with Glen Echo Park Partnership for Arts & Culture.
