DESCRIPTION:Learn from Brazilian samba master percussionist André Coelho from Rio de Janeiro! André will show and demonstrate each of the essential Brazilian samba percussion instruments. We will have some percussion instruments available for participants to use\, but please bring your own instruments if you have any. \nThis is a regularly occurring Brazilian percussion ensemble practice. All levels are welcome to participate; while primarily intended for adults\, all ages are welcome. \nRegistration is $80 for the full semester (September – December 2022) or $15 per drop-in. Dancer and dance scholar Kate Spanos will demonstrate and teach frevo dance using the methodology of Mexe Com Tudo (Otávio Bastos) of Recife.
