We had a great Gilsons concert at Black Cat on Friday, wrapping up our summer concert programming! Thanks to everyone who came out to see Gilsons’ first concert in DC, as part of their US/Canada debut tour. The band was met with a full house of excited fans of this new generation of Brazilian popular music. It was moving to see everyone swaying and singing along with their latest hits, and they ended with some classic samba to bring it all back to the band’s roots in Bahia.
We had DJ Marcela Biondo opening the show with American and Brazilian hits, which got everyone warmed up to dance and sing. Gilsons were met with huge applause by excited fans of this new generation of Brazilian popular music. It was beautiful to see everyone swaying and singing along with their latest hits, and they ended with some classic samba to bring it all back to the band’s roots in Bahia.
