About the program

Samba is one of Brazil’s most recognized dance styles, full of energy and charisma! Join this weekly samba dance class, which gives students the opportunity to work on their technique and learn exciting new choreographies, including footwork, body isolations, and hip work. This class will prepare you to perform samba with a live music ensemble, if you choose to.

Students in our Thursday class have the special privilege of rehearsing with our bateria at Levine Music, across the street from Round House Education Center. This is a unique opportunity for dancers and percussionists to practice together and learn about the key relationship between music and movement in samba.

EducArte welcomes all levels, from beginners to advanced, semi-professionals, and dance instructors. No auditions required.

About the instructor

Classes are taught by Mariana Triginelli, who was born and raised in Minas Gerais, Brazil, and has been immersed in samba since the age of six. Her love for samba and Brazilian Carnival runs deep, fueling her lifelong passion for dance. Over the years, she has refined her skills through workshops with renowned samba instructors, including Natalia Moreno and Preta Nascimento. Mariana brings her vibrant energy and cultural pride to every class, making samba not just a dance, but an exciting and transformative experience for her students.

    • Full session tuition ($20 per class; $260 for 13 weeks, September 10 – December 10, no class November 26)
    • Monthly package ($20 per class)

Scholarships are available to students in need. Please fill out this form to be considered for a scholarship.

Semester/monthly registration packages and drop-ins are non-refundable.

Monthly class packages are priced and designed to be used within the same calendar month in which they are purchased and are intended for students who join us regularly each week. Please note that the monthly packages:

  • Must be used in the month of purchase; unused classes do not roll over to future months.
  • Cannot be used as drop-ins or as a flexible “class card” for occasional attendance.
  • Are non-transferable and non-refundable once the month begins.

If you prefer maximum flexibility and want to come only occasionally, you are welcome to purchase single classes instead, understanding that the per-class cost will be higher than the monthly package rate. This helps us keep class sizes consistent, support our teaching artists, and continue offering high-quality Afro-Brazilian dance experiences to our community.
