Coming up in June, we are collaborating with ClancyWorks Dance Company’s 2026 Dance Educators Training Institute (DETI), taking place June 29-30 at the CCBC Center for the Arts in Catonsville, MD.
This year’s program focuses on “Dances of Resistance,” and our professional instructors will lead workshops in capoeira, frevo, and samba (alongside Irish step dance!), providing dance educators with immersive experiences in these powerful cultural traditions. We’ll also facilitate a discussion about cultural dance pedagogies and how these art forms have served as vehicles for resistance and cultural preservation.
This professional development opportunity is offered in partnership with Baltimore County Public Schools and Community College of Baltimore County and reflects our commitment to empowering educators with the tools and knowledge to bring authentic, transformative dance experiences to their students.
