Summer Samba Challenge
June 30 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Take our Summer Samba Challenge to tone your body, build and polish your samba dance technique, and experience other dances of Brazil!
This summer, EducArte is offering weekly 2-hour fitness and Brazilian dance classes in Rockville on Tuesdays from June 23 to July 14. The classes are taught by our experienced Brazilian dance instructors: Mariana Triginelli, Luy Cortes, Kate Spanos, and Pablo Regis.
Each weekly session includes:
- Conditioning: A low to medium-impact circuit to strengthen arms, legs, back, and core, and improve agility, supporting your dance technique.
- Samba no pé technique: Focused samba no pé instruction, with attention to precision, speed, and style (taught by Mariana Triginelli).
- Brazilian “dance sampler”: Explore different Brazilian movement styles, including frevo from Pernambuco (taught by Kate Spanos); toada from Amazonas and Maranhão, and axé and lambada from Bahia (taught by Mariana Triginelli); capoeira (taught by Pablo Regis); and samba axé and samba reggae from Bahia (taught by Luy Cortes).
This intensive is open to all levels and offers a comprehensive training experience for samba and Brazilian movement forms.
Registration for the full four-week session is encouraged. Drop-ins are also welcome.
