Monobloco has left EducArte and its audiences with lots of saudades!
This past weekend Monobloco brought the electric energy of Rio’s Carnival to Washington, DC. EducArte dance instructor Ilheuma Zezeh kicked off our event with a samba dance lesson. We were very proud to have carioca crooner JP Silva from Rio as our opening act—he got everyone to sing along and in the mood for the concert. The crowd was ready to party when Monobloco took to the stage to play classic samba hits, along with covers of songs by other popular Brazilian artists, including Tim Maia, Jorge Ben, and Alceu Valença.
