National Endowment for the Arts awards  EducArte a Challenge America grant to support Brazilian arts programming

We are pleased to announce that EducArte has been approved by the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) for a Challenge America award. This grant will support our monthly Saraus de Samba at Glen Echo Park. The NEA will award 272 Challenge America awards nationwide totaling $2,720,000 as part of the recent announcement of fiscal year 2025 grants. See the full announcement and list of awardees here.

EducArte presents our first Festa Junina in Washington, DC, featuring Forróçacana

We are proud to have presented our first Brazilian Festa Junina festival at Black Cat DC in Washingon, DC, on June 13! EducArte brought together important Brazilian-run nonprofits and community partners and Brazilian audiences from the DMV to enjoy typical dances (quadrilha and forró), traditional foods, and one of the most important forró bands from Brazil, Forróçacana.
